First Bronze Artist’s Proof of RAPTOR on the Operating Table…

RAPTOR on the operating tableI picked up my first artist’s proof of RAPTOR from the foundry on Wednesday, and dropped off a wax of the second configuration (see previous post) of the same sculpture. It is in three pieces now, and as is typical with all of my castings, will entail a fair amount of grinding/filing/sanding before it’s ready for weld-up & patina. This photograph shows the arsenal of files I use to eliminate metal gating scars (from the sprues) and true-up the curves and edges.
