CRAZYHORSE Rising: NEW Bronze Sculpture/Behind-the-Scenes of Patination
Patina application on Crazyhorse, my new bronze series (limited edition of 5)!
My old friend and long time collaborator, Karl Reichley (CA), flew out to CO & WY last week to help me conjure stunning, original patinas for my new bronzes: Griffon & Crazyhorse; the first two of each series. (See previous post for another short, behind-the-scenes video of patina application on my new Griffon.) As I just wrote in The Brothers Griffon blog, Karl & I typically share & debate ideas for a bit, then dive in & improvise; it’s a wild, intense, semi-predictable back-and-forth—informed by years of friendship and working together.
Crazyhorse is a limited edition of 5—plus a couple of artist’s proofs.
>Again: Special thanks to Cheyenne sculptor, Carey Hosterman, for his generosity, patience & sense of humor as we “burned the house down” @ his incredible Rocky Mountain Bronze Shop.<
I also completed a “pro-shoot” of these works with Loveland, CO photographer, Jafe Parsons last week. I will publish them here as soon as Jafe finishes editing.
